Deborah started Debgift Couture in November 2019. She mentioned that the inspiration to get started came after a WhatsApp training session she attended which focused on the topic of turning a personal passion into a source of income. Now, Debgift Couture is not just a passion and source of income for Deborah; it is a way of life. She talked about how initial capital investment was difficult to come by (a challenge faced by many Nigerian business owners); but however, that did not stop her from looking for growth opportunities. She also shared with us how most of her growth has come through social media advertising and word of mouth while also communicating how grateful she was for small wins and achievements, but also acknowledging that she had ways to go to reach the height of business she aims for. One of these heights includes making Debgift Couture a household name in Nigeria. Deborah constantly works towards this goal by creating content, doing market research and spreading awareness to aid the growth of her business while also working on herself as an entrepreneur by attending seminars and training to better her business mind. What a champ!

Deborah was quick to mention just how much of a key role client interaction plays in business growth. Even during exchanges with customers who can be labelled difficult by some, Deborah prefers to remain peaceful and patient while also looking at it from the point of view of the other party. She believes that this, coupled with product quality and affordability is what sets her apart from the competition. She also emphasized on good employee welfare and benefits being a given because employees play a major role in uplifting a business. One thing she is not a fan of though, is the ease of doing business (or lack thereof) in Nigeria. She sees Nigeria as a potentially strong marketplace, but the corruption and policies are keeping that from becoming reality. It is sad when you think about it. She does advice other business owners to keep pushing despite this tough business climate and rely on GOD every step of the way. Aside from the corruption and poor policies, Deborah has also faced difficulties due to the patriarchal way Nigeria is set up. The most prominent being inappropriate sexual advances made by male customers. She does not let that upset her though; and she even goes on to let us know that she will keep advancing to the top, despite these drawbacks. She also believes that businesswomen in Nigeria should keep moving forward until they cause a paradigm shift.

Being the review driven enthusiasts that we are, we asked the question of what she thinks of myudo.biz as well as what advice she could give us. "Keep the good works up. Integrity should be your watch word." She replied.
Thanks for the compliments, Deborah! We are happy to have you on board and we will constantly make improvements to get ahead just like you are doing.
